In this English Language Arts lesson, students read and analyze Aline Murray Kilmer’s poem, “Things,” which explores topics like memorialization, permanence and loss. After analyzing the poem, students will create a product (either a poem or an artifact for a student gallery exhibit) inspired by the poem to demonstrate their understanding of the poem’s  theme.
