"Next category is a big one: the digital landing page for every organization that has to get folks where they need to be - and they look great doing it!"

In a virtual awards presentation, local Kansas City personality and professional emcee Hartzell Gray announced with much fanfare the Philly Award gold medal winner for 'Website' (large division) in 2022: the National WWI Museum and Memorial.

Launched in early 2022, the redesigned website for theworldwar.org was built to increase access to the Collection and to the Museum and Memorial's mission using digital learning technologies – one of the organization's 'Three Big Ideas.' Improvements include:

  • Simplified design and ease of navigation
  • Improve accessibility and security
  • Interactive timeline
  • New Online Collections Database
  • Video library integrated into website
  • Simplified ticket, donation and membership purchasing
  • New field trip booking form
  • Stronger TNEW (CRM) integration of account History and membership Info
  • Translation into eight languages
  • Expandable FAQ sections

Web traffic had already been increasing in previous years, but saw a significant jump once the new website launched. The Museum and Memorial will continue to upgrade and improve its digital strategies in order expand its audience around the globe.
