KANSAS CITY, MO. – In conjunction with events occurring downtown on Wednesday, Feb. 14 to celebrate the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII win, the National WWI Museum and Memorial will be open from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and is offering a special discount admission rate of $10.
On Jan. 12, 1970, fans gathered on the grounds of the Museum and Memorial to celebrate the 1970 Chiefs’ Super Bowl title. And now, Kansas City celebrates a dynasty and three Super Bowl wins in the past five years. The Museum and Memorial is excited to once again be a part of the Kansas City story and welcome Chiefs fans to its grounds.
The celebration features a parade at 11 a.m. through downtown Kansas City followed by a Victory Rally at approximately 12:45 p.m. co-hosted at Union Station and the National WWI Museum and Memorial. Spectators are invited to watch the rally from the North Lawn of the Museum and Memorial.
Fans looking for convenient parking can reserve a $50 parking pass for the Museum and Memorial’s Southeast Lawn. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. Discounted admission tickets to the Museum will be able for $10. Guests can access clean restrooms, the Museum Store and Museum and Memorial exhibitions. Children 5 and under are free. Guests must have a ticket to enter the building.
Russell Stover Chocolates is partnering with the Museum and Memorial to show its love for Kansas City and celebrate the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl win by giving away over 315,000 pieces of heart-shaped chocolates on the Museum and Memorial’s North Lawn. The North Lawn will also feature local companies like Love Letters, Ruby Jean’s Juicery, Strawberry Swing vendors and local food trucks.
Street closures will affect how fans are able to access the Museum and Memorial. For updated information on transit, public safety and other news relating to celebrations, fans are encouraged to sign up to receive notifications from ALERTKC by texting “KCPARADE” to 888-777.
MEDIA AVAILABILITY
Staging space as well as high-bandwidth internet access for broadcast outlets is available to the media from the Memorial Courtyard overlooking downtown Kansas City. The Liberty Memorial Tower is available on a rotating basis to media wishing to capture the parade/rally from the top of the Tower. For both elements, space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Access must be coordinated in advance of the event date.
