Lawrence Lecture Series: Modern Desert Warfare
Sunday, Nov. 19 - 2 p.m.
Zoom Conference
Following the outbreak of the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire in 1916, the British high command organized a military mission – designated Operation Hedgehog – to aid Arab armies in the Hejaz region. Responsible for training and equipping the Arab armies in the field, officers of Hedgehog would also engage in sabotage. Saddle up with Dr. David Murphy as he navigates how T.E. Lawrence, Arab leaders and many other British and French officers formed the basis of desert fighting which is still used today.
Hosted in partnership with the T.E. Lawrence Society.
