2024 History Crawl: Strawberry Hill

The Strawberry Hill neighborhood in Kansas City, Kansas has a history as vibrant as its community. Extending from Interstate 70 and Minnesota Avenue to 7th Street and Central Avenue, the neighborhood's sites and residents reflect the beauty of converging cultures and a century's legacy of perseverance and innovation. Hosted in partnership with the Kansas City Museum.

About the tour

Our history crawl tour guides will be Lisa Peña and Christy Ubelaker from Urban Hikes KC and volunteers from Strawberry Hill Museum and Cultural Center, including Administrative Director JoBeth Nastav.

Please note you’ll tally over 2,500 steps in this walking tour, featuring some stairs and slopes.

  • Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable footwear and to dress appropriately for the weather.
  • Tour will proceed rain or shine.

 

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. at St. John's Park.

Participants will get their audio devices and enjoy small bites and beverages before beginning at the Strawberry Hill Museum and Cultural Center.

Tour concludes with a light lunch at St. John's Catholic Club.
